One thing that I love about Easter is filling my toddler’s plastic eggs with goodies. And I’m sure it’s the same for every mum. However, you soon realize that it’s impossible to fill every egg with candies and jelly beans. They contain loads of sugar which makes it an extremely unhealthy option for your kiddos. So, over the years I have been able to come up with interesting non-candy Easter egg fillers that won’t give your toddler a sugar rush or make their excitement fade away. Here we go!
1. Band-Aids
I bet you never thought that a band-aid would make for cool egg fillers for your toddler. Little kids love stickers and band-aids are nothing but that. You can get fun band-aids with Disney characters in them as toddlers love those.
2. Color Bath Tablets
Just plop a tablet into your toddler’s bath and watch the water turn into a different color. They are completely safe, eco-friendly, and won’t stain the tub or your kid’s clothes. With these bath bombs, you are sure to give your toddler colorful baths in the future.
3. Bracelet
I love seeing my baby wear bracelets and she loves it more than I do. Kids love accessories and bracelets would make a great fit for egg fillers.
4. Bowtie
Bowtie would make for such a cute church outfit for Easter. And that’s why it’s on this list.
5. Mini Bubbles
Your toddler won’t be able to resist playing with these. If you have more than one kid, these come in different colored containers so that each toddler can keep track of theirs. Though they are non-toxic, it’s best to let them play under adult supervision.
6. Magnetic Letters
Magnetic letters are not just great as egg fillers, you can later use them to teach your kids the alphabets and even as a sensory activity.
7. Cheerios
If you are running out of options and don’t have enough time to hit the grocery store for candies, just fill it with some cheerios.
8. Self-Inking Stamps
You can go for something fancy or something cute. Kids will go crazy over them. Heck, it even gets me excited and I’m a grown a** woman.
9. Bath Toys
You can get cute little bath toys online or at the store. These squeaky toys will get your toddler excited for Easter and even during bath time. Get a couple of these toys and your toddler will go gaga over them.
10. Small Animal Figurines
They are perfect for water play or even for sensory bins. You can get a few of these including dinosaur figurines.
11. Hair Bows
You can get cute, fancy, and colorful hair bows at any store. And they fit perfectly into the Easter eggs which makes them a great egg filler. You can also get hair bows that match your baby girl’s Easter outfit.
12. Mini Play-Doh
Play-doh is something that kids love. It’s also a great activity to improve your little one’s fine motor skills. You can get mini play-doh that comes in tiny tubs that would be perfect as egg fillers.
13. Finger Puppets
My toddler loves playing with her finger puppets and has fun every time she puts it on her adorable little fingers. It always brings a smile to my face.
14. Homemade Goldfish Crackers
If your kids love these crackers, you can make homemade crackers in the shape of goldfish that are a healthy alternative to sugary treats.
15. Fruit Snacks
Fruit snacks contain a reasonable proportion of calories in them. You can buy a pack and divide it between two or three eggs.
16. Stickers
You can get a roll, foil, or sparkly stickers. Basically, anything that sticks and has some color and glitter in it. If your toddler is anything like mine, they will love it.
I hope that you’ve now got enough ideas to create fun and interesting non-candy Easter egg fillers. Remember that it’s more about creating wonderful memories than giving them candies. Hope you have an amazing Easter.
